Marina Scarr is an award-winning nature photographer and certified Florida Master Naturalist based in Sarasota. Growing up in Milton, Massachusetts as an equestrian on a farm fostered her curiosity and respect for nature and animals. Her affinity for birds began at an early age when she witnessed an incubator full of duck eggs hatch.
Marina’s interest in photography was sparked shortly after moving to Florida with the gift of a camera from her father. She was 18 at the time. She then completed several photography classes. Today, she enjoys time in the field with her Canon R3 and R5 bodies and telephoto lenses.
Marina also enjoys swimming, reading and traveling. She spent several years as an avian moderator on BirdPhotographers.net, a nature photography critique forum. She always tries to find time to volunteer for the birds.
Marina has won several awards and her images have been featured in National Wildlife, Nature’s Best Photography, Living Bird, and other magazines and journals. Her images are also featured on various websites, brochures and apps.
