We take pride in providing excellent customer service.
Why is water quality important? Personal health is the main reason. Having access to drinking water doesn’t mean all sources of water meet the highest standards for health or taste. Every source of water can be compromised for assorted reasons including corrosion or mineral build up from aging pipes and other impurities including bacteria, nitrates, sulfide, and other chemicals. Because Florida is a low-lying state, we are susceptible to groundwater pollution entering the water table.
One of the biggest concerns related to health is the presence of lead. Most of us can see or smell impurities even though we might not know the specific issue. This is why we do free water testing. Like the homeowners we support, we want to know as much as possible about the water being evaluated. The result of our testing guides us on the best options for a water filtration system, softener or other solution.
How is the tap water in Florida? Although it’s safe to drink, Florida ranks among states with the worst water quality overall. One of the reasons is that all of our water comes from an aquifer which can have an elevated level of sulfur that may not be completely filtered out. That partly explains the smell or discoloration you might notice from water coming from the faucet. Our tap water also has elevated levels of minerals such as calcium and magnesium, which influences its taste and explains the mineral buildup on fixtures and appliances. These same minerals explain why our water is hard and not soft. Using a filtration system or softener is a way for a homeowner to achieve a better balance of chemicals leading to a cleaner taste.
Spencer, what would you like to share about your family and other interests? My wife and I also serve as Firefighter/Paramedics for local Fire Departments. We have two young children, and we enjoy being outdoors, in the water and riding in our UTVs. I’m one of the founding members of the Englewood Young Professionals Social Club which helps support local small businesses.
