Please summarize your credentials?
I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist, Licensed Esthetician, and Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. I received my massage therapy training at the Florida Institute of Massage Therapy and Esthetics in Fort Lauderdale. I completed my training as an Esthetician at Atelier Esthetique Institute of Esthetics in New York City. Kinesio Taping is a method that supports the lymphatic system with gentle pressure. It’s a helpful method for providing patients with rehab support and stability to targeted muscles and joints. The taping technique also prolongs the benefits of massage therapy.
When did you relocate to the Venice area?
After helping clients for 12-years in Greenwich, Connecticut, we moved to Venice in 2004 and established Renee Body Care before I changed the name to Total Body Care of Venice. The name change reflects our expansion to offer a greater variety of healing services.
Tell our readers a little bit about your salt lamps?
The custom-designed lamps are made with authentic pink Himalayan salt by Salt of Light. The benefits include air purification and the reduction of negative ions and airborne infections. People note that the ambient light has a positive impact on their mood and each lamp features a dimmer switch. Our website has photos showing the various models.
What would you like to share about your family and other interests?
I have two beautiful children in their twenties who are finding their way in the world. My parents live and work in Sarasota. My mother is an award-winning Master Fine Art Botanical Artist and the founder of the Academy of Botanical Art. My Dad is a former Marine and Police Officer who is now semi-retired and yet managing to keep everyone alert and happy with his unfailing sense of humor. As for myself, I am a life-long student of philosophy, humor, and the dictum “Be good, do good, be one.”
