Claudia Daniels has been living in Venice for nearly two decades after relocating here from Mainz, Germany. “I came to the U.S. to study English and fell in love with Florida’s sunshine, beaches, wildlife, and the small town charm of Venice,” she said.
Claudia’s creativity as a photographer has been enhanced by her experience in graphic design and her studies focused on graphic arts, multimedia, writing, and teaching.
“I became interested in photography initially when I took a workshop during high school,” she said. “Over the years, I completed an associate degree in graphic design, a bachelor’s degree in business, and a master of liberal arts degree with a concentration in English and multimedia. I taught graphic arts design at State College of Florida for a number of years.”
A professional realtor with RE/MAX Platinum Realty, Claudia enjoys taking photos of wildlife and Florida landscapes. She uses two Sony full frame cameras and an array of different lenses. She also benefits from Photoshop on her computer to do additional editing.
“Many of my photos feature special effects in the form of added textures, brush strokes, and color enhancements,” she explained. “The ongoing enhancements of digital tools has opened new vistas for creating digital art. The possibility for self-expression is exciting.”
Although Claudia has always had an affinity for nature, her interest in photography expanded her curiosity about wildlife and the natural world. “I’m drawn to the unpredictability of wildlife and how the changing lighting conditions throughout the day presents technical challenges and opportunities,” she added. “It’s particularly rewarding to notice the subtle nuances of animal behavior.”
