What are some of the challenges with your work? Every project has challenges. The most important consideration is meeting the expectations of each client while completing the project efficiently and safely. We are quick, but never at the expense of the safety of our team members and the impact of our work on a client’s property. Our team members are educated on the nuances of removing trees and shrubs safely.
It’s easy to underestimate the impact of large branches being removed. They are much larger and heavier than they appear from the ground. The effective removal of trees entails knowledge of the health of individual trees. Our efficiency requires confidence in using many tools and equipment including chainsaws, grinders, bucket trucks, multi-position ladders, commercial grade rope, harnesses, carabiners, and ascenders to enhance safe movement within the canopy.
Please explain what an arborist does and share some information about the field of arboriculture. An arborist is a specialist in the care of trees. Arboriculture refers to the cultivation, management, and study of individual trees, shrubs, vines, and other perennial woody plants. Arborists play a helpful role in protecting communities as well as public and private property from risks associated with damaged, dying and dead trees. That’s good for the natural environment and ultimately wildlife.
What is your approach to arborist consulting? We make appraisals of the tree or shrub vitality and its environment. That includes diagnosing specific problems including disease and recommending treatments. Some trees and shrubs need to be removed and others can survive with professional pruning and care (fertilizer and changes in the watering protocol can make a difference).
What would you like to share about your family? We have four children (4 to 13 years of age) and we enjoy our time with family and friends.
